End-to-end system integrator achieves ESG top ranking at the first attempt – Ambitious goals until 2030
Amadys takes gold in EcoVadis sustainability ranking
Frechen, March 7, 2023. Amadys has been awarded the gold medal in EcoVadis’ prestigious independent sustainability ranking. This puts the end-to-end systems integrator in the top five percent of all participating companies from the industry. In the coming years, Amadys will continue to pursue ambitious goals and plans, among other things, to switch completely to circular economy. This is the first time that Amadys has undergone the EcoVadis audit.
With end-to-end network solutions for the telecommunications and energy sectors, Amadys brings people and technology together quickly, efficiently, innovatively and economically, and accompanies the digital transformation with future-proof and sustainable solutions. For this commitment, Amadys now receives the Gold award in the EcoVadis sustainability ranking at group level for the first time.
“Sustainability is a crucial factor for future economic development. At Amadys, we are committed to a long-term sustainability strategy in line with ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) criteria. This includes environmental issues and social aspects, but also corporate governance issues,” says Hein Wilderjans, CEO of Amadys. “Sustainability is at the heart of our corporate activities and is thus one of the most important factors for lasting success, because: The gold medal in the EcoVadis ranking is a success for our entire company. That is why we are particularly pleased about this top ranking directly at the first audit. It is both an award and an incentive to consistently pursue this great path.”
Sustainability rating along the value chain
The EcoVadis rating takes into account 21 criteria along the entire value chain from the four areas of environment, labor and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. On the basis of a Scorecard, the rating measures various indicators. These include sustainability targets, implemented activities, certifications or controlling measures.
Ambitious ecological-sustainable goals
For the next three to five years, Amadys has set ambitious targets in all four areas to be assessed: for example, the systems integrator has committed to reducing CO2 emissions in the areas of direct (company buildings and car fleet) and indirect (purchased electricity, heating and cooling for own use) emissions by 25 percent by 2025 and by 50 percent by 2030. In addition, Amadys aims to use 100 percent renewable energy by 2025 and reduce water consumption by 50 percent by 2030 from a 2020 baseline (4.5 m3/M€). The share of recycled waste is to be increased from the current 54 percent to 70 percent by 2025. By 2030, the systems integrator aims to have achieved a 20 percent quota of women on its Board of Directors. To reduce its carbon footprint in the short term, Amadys plans to introduce sustainable packaging, reduce transportation movements and establish a life cycle analysis.
